What is Ascension?
If we use a metaphor to describe spiritual reality wherein "up" represents wholeness, or closeness to God, and "down" represents fragmentation, or separation from God, we can then speak of the return to Unity consciousness as "Ascension." As we ascend, we are climbing the metaphorical staircase towards wholeness. The return is an illusion of course, since the original departure was like a dream. The idea is to work within the dream constructively to get yourself to a level where you can awaken from it and realize you were always fully embraced as part of the whole.
What is Ascension Yoga?
| Ascension Yoga is meant to be an adjunct to an existing yoga practice. It is a method of approaching any type of yoga so that it serves your personal, and thereby planetary, ascension. It is by no means a substitute for actual yoga instruction. If you have never done yoga before I suggest you take a few classes, or even a few courses, before trying the Ascension Yoga practice – so that you don't hurt yourself trying to get into the asanas. Alternatively, you can use any standard stretching positions you are familiar with in place of yoga poses (asanas). Just remember to breathe steady and deep while in each stretch. Benefits of Ascension Yoga The transformation process is effortless and is carried by the pure being of the person, not by conscious intent. And it is not all or nothing. Traumatic Kundalini awakening experiences are not the aim of Ascension Yoga. We do not start with the seat of the Kundalini, but rather let the awakened consciousness reach it, releasing a gentle stream from the great river, as universal love is integrated within the full chakra system.
